Combining over 20 years of expertise in finance and digital transformation, mainly in large organizations, Xavier has developed an approach that is both pragmatic and respectful of the governance principles dear to international organizations.

What inspired FIT4DEV and what principles have shaped your approach to consulting?
I worked for many years in finance departments, and realized that cumbersome administrative and financial processes were a hindrance to achieving quality financial analyses within the required timeframe.

Digitizing financial processes is not an option, it’s an obligation to enable the development of organizations, whether private, public or non governmental.
How did your financial background lead you to specialize in digital transformation?
During my first SAP implementation at a major retailer (Ahold Delhaize), I saw the challenge of setting up an ERP to cover the needs of the finance department. I also realized the need for local support to ensure that the ERP delivers on its promises in terms of traceability and efficiency. Any lack of proximity between finance and IT will lead to the development of complex functionalities for little added value, or in other cases, absolutely necessary business needs are ignored.
How do you approach training in organizations implementing digital transformation? 
Training is absolutely key to 1) enabling teams to correctly define their needs upstream of the project, 2) testing all possible variants, and 3) using the information system to its full potential. Many implementations neglect training. The result is a system that is extremely costly, delivers little added value and is under-utilized.
